There's that man again! @ No 10

That Ollie Letwin - the 'fear and discipline' in Whitehall man - is getting an awful lot of publicity. I found a scrunched up newspaper near the waste bin today. There before my eyes was a picture of old Ollie himself. If you didn't know who he is, you might be forgiven for thinking he was some third-rate Italian tenor. He has the build and the gestures. But at least they sing!

Ollie, however, is an ideas man, as we know. Talking about public sector employees, he was quoted in this paper as saying:
some will not survive; it is an inevitable and intended consequence of what we are talking about

The newspaper did not howl with despair at these words. No, indeed, the journalist called the ideas 'truly ground-breaking'.

The only flaw in Ollie's thinking, according to the writer, was the fact that not enough public sector workers had lost their jobs and suffered! Indeed, the writer complained some of these workers had got huge redundancy payments.

The journalist totally misses the point, in this cat's humble opinion! It isn't the high flying top-notch job holders on whom Ollie is aiming his sights. No - it is the multitude of public sector workers who are earning a pittance! The high fliers will get another job by just clicking their fingers! The poor devils who sit by computer monitors all day; who teach unruly children; who nurse on under-staffed wards - they are the ones he is directing the dual threat of 'fear and discipline' at.

So - this journalist who is so keen on Ollie's ground-breaking ideas is either not thinking too clearly or shares the same agenda of wrecking the public sector.

When I finished reading the scrunched up paper, I sharpened my claws on it. It's in shreds now - where it should have been all along!

'Bye' from me:
